The keys to unlocking capital
Greetings, Chief Storytelling Officers.
“There’s no way that’s going to work”.
Those were the words of one of my closest friends and fellow trial lawyer back in 2019 when I told him that I knew the skills of a trial lawyer could help founders raise capital.
Fast forward to 2021.
A founder came to me after raising his pre-seed round. We’d spoken over Twitter a few months before and now he wanted to raise a huge seed round.
Aiming for 5 million.
The startup was in deep tech and needed capital. It needed highly skilled engineers and a team with expensive experience.
I listened to the pitch.
30 minutes later I still hadn’t said a word.
The pitch was complicated, convoluted, and confusing. The wrong type of the 3 Cs.
Sadly, this wouldn't be the last founder who pitched me with the wrong type of the 3 Cs. That’s why so many founders end up struggling, stressed, and suffering.
So I told the founder, give me a few days and I’ll show you the right way to tell this story.
I took the transcript and soaked it all in. Then I started highlighting the most important pieces. Then I deleted anything extra. Rinse and repeat.
Once I had the story down to a few pages I came up with the top line message. A speechwriter’s way of saying the main idea.
With the main idea ready, I figured out the structure.
It was obvious. Use the phase approach storytelling structure.
When we got back on Zoom the next week, I delivered the story.
For the next three weeks we refined it and then practiced it over and over. The founder was obsessed with perfection. Obsessed with making the story deliver with investors. Obsessed with raising the capital needed to build this game changing technology.
Two weeks later I was on the beach in Santa Monica. I got a FaceTime call.
“We just got our first term sheet…and it’s way more than $5m.”
The founder closed the round and I’ve run full speed ahead ever since.
Working with the best founders to raise the most money possible at the right valuations. Because that’s what they deserve.
Do you feel your idea deserves financial investment?
I’ll bet you do.
Look.
I’ve come up with a program that teaches you the basic foundations of what I did with the founder in this story.
The foundations of which I’ve continuously improved on over the last few years to help raise over $575,000,000 by the founders I support.
I did a soft launch of it last weekend, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic.
Now…
I leave it in your hands.
Take a look today at Founder Fundraising Foundations and let’s get your idea funded… as soon as possible.

P.S. Here’s one early user’s review: “Going through the Fundraising Foundations course and in a span of 3 videos my whole perspective is changing and I realize how many mistakes I’ve been making!”
